Organisationer som kæmper for religionsfrihed og mod religiøs forfølgelse

En række internationale organisationer kæmper for overholdelse af de internationale menneskerettighedsbestemmelser mht. religiøs frihed, og dermed også for menneskers ret til at forlade en religion uden at blive forfulgt eller straffet.

Amnesty International.

Center for Religious Freedom
"The Center for Religious Freedom is a self-sustaining division of Freedom House. Founded in 1941 by Eleanor Roosevelt and Wendell Willkie to oppose Naziism and Communism in Europe, Freedom House is America's oldest human rights group. En Oslo-baseret organisation, som på basis af art. 18 i FNs universelle menneskerettighedserklæring kæmper for religionsfriehed. "Every person has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion. This right includes the freedom to change religion or belief..." Læs mere.

International Christian Concern.
"ICC acts as a bridge between believers in free countries and believers in persecuted countries. This bridge carries encouragement, prayers and aid in while news, requests, and love flow back over the bridge. The bridge also allows for the voices and concerns of the persecuted to be heard by the Church so that we might move the rest of the world to action on their behalf." Oslo Coalition on Freedom of Religion or Belief
The Oslo Coalition, which was established in 1998 by a number of faith communities, works to advance freedom of religion or belief  as a common benefit that is accepted and embraced by all religions and persuasions. Drawing on and promoting the internationally accepted human rights standards on freedom of religion, the Coalition works to promote mutual understanding and cooperation between communities of different persuasions and to hinder injustice, intolerance and distrust springing from religious differences. Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe - Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights - Freedom of Religion or Belief
ODIHR’s work in the area of freedom of religion or belief focuses on assisting participating States, religious or belief communities, and civil society in protecting and promoting the right to freedom of religion or belief. ODIHR also works on preventing and responding to intolerance and discrimination based on religious grounds. Read more.

United States Commission on International Religious Freedom
The U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom was created by the International Religious Freedom Act of 1998 to monitor the status of freedom of thought, conscience, and religion or belief abroad, as defined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and related international instruments, and to give independent policy recommendations to the President, the Secretary of State, and the Congress.
